Legendary CS Moments Immortalized Forever: Sauce, Graffiti and Stained Glass

Legendary Counter-Strike moments immortalized by Valve and the community: sauce cans for magixx's clutch, olofmeister & coldzera graffiti, s1mple glass.
On June 30, 2026, Valve did something it hadn't done in nearly a decade — added a reference to a real esports moment in CS2. Cans of tomato sauce "Magic. Secret Sauce" appeared on Mirage. The trigger — magixx's clutch at the Major. And it's just one case where legendary CS moments got immortalized right inside the game — or in the real world.
Right now only three official Valve tributes live in CS2. But history holds many more: graffiti erased by map reworks, stained glass at arenas, even election posters in Denmark. We walked through the most iconic ones — and where to find each trace.
🍅 magixx and the sauce cans — the clutch that revived a Valve tradition
Quarterfinal of IEM Cologne Major 2026, Team Spirit vs G2 on Mirage. Score 17:16, Spirit captain Boris "magixx" Vorobyov is left alone with an AK-47 against four G2 players near Market. One spray — four kills. A 1v4 clutch that pushed Spirit further up the bracket.
Days later, on June 30, 2026, Valve added cans of tomato sauce "Magic. Secret Sauce" to Mirage, marked "4X" — for the number of frags. It's Valve's first esports reference in CS2 in almost ten years — such easter eggs previously only appeared in the CS:GO era.
olofmeister and the "burning defuse" — Overpass, 2014
Semifinal of ESL One Cologne 2014, Fnatic vs Dignitas, 14:14. olofmeister starts defusing the bomb on B site — right inside device's molotov. He burns but finishes the defuse, dying a split second later. Round secured.
Valve immortalized the moment with graffiti near Hut: a winged operator with pliers, engulfed in flames. One of the few pieces that carried over to CS2 and is still alive today.
coldzera and the "flying AWP" — Mirage, 2016
Semifinal of MLG Major Columbus 2016, Luminosity vs Liquid, round 25. coldzera, mid-air and no-scope, takes out EliGE and s1mple with one bullet, then finishes nitr0. One of the most replayed highlights in CS history.
The graffiti on Mirage's B site — a winged AWP with four red skulls — also survived into CS2. coldzera himself got the symbol tattooed.
s1mple and the falling no-scope — Cache, 2016
Semifinal of ESL One Cologne 2016, Liquid vs Fnatic, a 1v2 on B. s1mple jumps off Heaven and no-scopes dennis mid-fall, then finishes KRIMZ. Even before joining NAVI, the Ukrainian was already writing history.
The graffiti under Heaven — a winged operator with an AWP and a crosshair around the head — was removed by Valve in the Cache rework, and s1mple publicly complained that his moment got erased. But a decade later it got a second life: at IEM Cologne Major 2026 ESL made a real medieval-style stained glass piece — an armored winged figure holding an AWP pointed down, with the crosshair drawn separately, a nod to playing without one. From erased in-game graffiti the moment became a physical art object at the arena.
Dosia and the "200 IQ grenade" — Inferno, 2017
Grand final of PGL Major Krakow 2017, Gambit vs Immortals. Dosia throws a perfectly calculated grenade into Pit, killing two opponents at once and denying the round save. Ice-cold "X-God" at Gambit's first Major.
The graffiti in Pit — hands with a grenade and the letter "X" (Dosia's nickname) — was removed in the Inferno rework. Fans still ask for it back.
Fnatic and the "Quad AWP" — Dust2, 2015
Grand final of ESL One Cologne 2015, Fnatic vs EnVyUs, overtime. Fnatic buy four AWPs for the whole team and push mid — apEX dies running into all four snipers at once. Audacity that became a meme.
The graffiti near T spawn — a figure holding four AWPs — was deleted in the 2017 Dust2 rework.
friberg and "King of Banana" — Inferno
Not a single moment but a whole era of friberg dominating Banana — including an ace in the ESL One Cologne 2014 final vs Fnatic, where he finished the last three on 5 HP. The Swede literally owned that corridor.
Valve added a street sign "Via Adamo" ("Adam's street" — a nod to his name) near the sandbags on Banana. In the CS2 Inferno rework it was removed, and fans asked for it back.
Xyp9x and "Clutch Minister" — merch and Danish elections
Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth entered history not with one moment but hundreds of clutches — per HLTV he won 763 1vX clutches (3rd-4th all-time — the record of 813 belongs to shox), including an ice-cold 1v3 on 1 HP on Overpass vs Virtus.pro in the ELEAGUE Major Atlanta 2017 final (Astralis's first Major).
He was immortalized not by Valve but by Astralis and the Danish community: pins, mugs, stickers — and a joke election campaign "Clutch Minister" with the slogan "Make Astralis Great Again," whose posters were hung next to real candidates in local elections.
What was left without graffiti
Not everything great got immortalized. NiKo's missed 1v5 vs Vitality, donk's 1v5 vs HEROIC at Shanghai Major 2024, aces by ZywOo and kennyS — those only have fan concepts in the Steam Workshop, not official Valve titles. So the three living tributes in CS2 — olofmeister, coldzera and the fresh magixx — are worth their weight in gold today. Frequently Asked Questions
What are the "Magic" sauce cans on Mirage in CS2?
On June 30, 2026 Valve added four "Magic. Secret Sauce" jars marked "4X" to Mirage's Market shelf — a nod to Boris "magixx" Vorobiev's (Team Spirit) 1v4 clutch vs G2 in the IEM Cologne Major 2026 quarterfinal. They sit exactly where he held his angle.
Is olofmeister's Overpass graffiti still in CS2?
Yes. The mural near Hut — a winged operator with pliers, engulfed in flames — was added after olofmeister's (fnatic) "burning defuse" at ESL One Cologne 2014. It's one of the few graffitis that carried over into CS2 and is still alive today.
Is coldzera's Mirage graffiti still there?
Yes. The winged AWP with four skulls on Mirage's B site marks coldzera's (Luminosity) mid-air no-scope that killed EliGE and s1mple with one bullet at MLG Major Columbus 2016. It was carried into CS2 unchanged.
Why did Valve remove s1mple's graffiti from Cache?
The mural under Heaven marked s1mple's falling no-scope clutch at ESL One Cologne 2016. It wasn't restored when Cache was reworked for CS2 — like almost all of the map's old easter eggs. s1mple isn't bothered: he has the moment tattooed.
What happened to Dosia's "200 IQ grenade" graffiti on Inferno?
The poster in Pit marked Dosia's (Gambit) grenade that killed two Immortals players at once at PGL Major Kraków 2017. It wasn't carried over when Inferno was fully rebuilt for CS2, and fans still ask Valve to bring it back.
Does Xyp9x really hold the clutch record with 813?
No. 813 1vX clutches is shox's record, HLTV's official all-time No. 1. Xyp9x sits around 3rd-4th with 763 clutches — still enough to earn the "Clutch Minister" nickname after a string of decisive rounds at ELEAGUE Major Atlanta 2017.
