Where to start if you are building from scratch
The game gives you a crosshair with outlines on, inner lines six long with a gap of three, and no centre dot. That is the baseline every slider here moves away from, and it is worth knowing, because most people change things without noticing what the default already did for them.
A working order is: length first, then gap, then thickness, and colour last. Length and gap decide how much of the enemy the crosshair hides at the moment you shoot, which is the only thing that matters in a duel. Thickness is a readability knob, not an aiming one. Colour is the setting people start with and the one that changes the least.
Check the result on a bright wall, not on the dark preview background. A crosshair that reads perfectly here can disappear on Ascent mid, and the outline exists exactly for that case: it is the cheapest way to keep a thin crosshair visible without making it fat.
Or start from someone else and change one thing
Building from zero is the slower path. Paste a pro code into the field above and it loads into the sliders as is, so you can move a single parameter and see what it costs. Codes of 548 professionals are rendered exactly as the game draws them, and the showcase also breaks down what the scene actually sets.
One code carries the primary, sniper and ADS crosshairs at once, so importing it replaces all three. If you only meant to change the one you shoot rifles with, that is worth knowing before you paste.
